Tribute to Ernesto Laclau

With the philosophers Louis Althusser and Antonio Gramsci as the foundations of his work, Ernesto Laclau (1935–2014), also a philosopher and political scientist, was a leading figure in post-Marxism. Laclau earned his doctorate at Oxford under Eric Hobsbawm and was Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Essex. He laid the theoretical groundwork for populism, and among his most cited books are Hegemony and socialist strategy y The populist reason.
