We present the catalog of The movement of the idea, publication that collects and expands the exhibition of the same name dedicated to Isidoro Valcárcel Medina and held at the IVAM between June and September 2025.

The publication continues the work begun by the catalogue of To and from Valcárcel Medina (Fundació Tàpies, Sala Verónicas and Centro José Guerrero, 2002), which covered the artist's production from the 1950s to the turn of the millennium. This new volume resumes and expands upon that work of documentation, incorporating the works created from then until the present and offering, in an unlikely fashion, a new perspective. catalog raisonné, a tour of his entire known production up to September 2025: 406 works.

Published in two volumes, the catalogue brings together all the drawings and texts exhibited at the IVAM, as well as a complete list of the artist's works, bibliography, and exhibitions, a selection of recent pieces, and an interview conducted in collaboration with Nuria Enguita. The publication also includes essays by critic and curator Pierre Bal Blanc, poet and professor of aesthetics Sandra Santana, and José Díaz Cuyás, coordinator and editor of both the 2002 and current catalogues.

The documentation and editing were done by Blanca Peirats and the design by César Ávila, who was also responsible for the design of the catalog published in 2002.

The presentation will include Blanca de la Torre, director of the IVAM; Jaime Vallaure, artist and editor; Blanca Peirats, documentalist and catalogue editor; Isidoro Valcarcel Medina, artist; and José Díaz Cuyás, coordinator of the publication.
