The traditional Continued Reading of Don Quixote 2018 marks its twenty-second edition. This uninterrupted reading will take place over forty-eight hours, and its open nature provides citizens with a lively forum for participation.

The reading will begin at 18:00 PM on July 23 and will end around 14:00 pm on miércoles 25The opening of the event will be led by Sergio Ramirez, Cervantes Prize 2017. Prominent figures from the world of politics and culture will also participate.

STORYTELLING: THE NINE-COLORED DEER

The story of the magical deer takes place in the Buddhist caves of Dunhuang, China. It tells of a beautiful, nine-colored creature with supernatural powers, brimming with kindness. Children will be introduced to a new world of myths, fantasies, and imagination, enhanced by audiovisual elements.

PICASSO AND THE MUSEUM

This exhibition aims to recreate the museum as a source of inspiration for the work of Pablo Picasso, an aspect that has been little studied to date. Picasso first visited the Prado Museum at the age of 13, where he was able to contemplate the work of great Spanish masters such as Zurbarán, El Greco, Velázquez, and Goya, among many others—images that would stay with him throughout his life and clearly influence his work.
