Medalla de Oro to Michael Haneke

On February 20th, the Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke (Austria, 1942) will be decorated with the Medalla de Oro from the CBA, the highest award given by this institution. At the same time, the Cine Estudio will host a Retrospective of his filmography, in the year in which LoveHis latest work continues to garner awards on the international scene, including the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 2013 Oscars.

A highly prestigious theater director in his country, Haneke is also a key figure in international cinema. His starkly honest work aims to expose the hypocrisy and double standards of affluent European societies.

Following the presentation of the Medal by the Presidentel Círculo de Bellas Artes, Juan Miguel Hernández LeónA musical recital will take place in which WA Mozart's Divertimento No. 1 Kv 439b for two clarinets and one bass clarinet will be performed.
