The photographs of Burton Norton This is the travelogue of Oxford photographer Burton Norton and his assistant WG Jones, the narrator of the adventure, written some time after the events had taken place—already in another world. They set out from Oxford and traveled across the European continent in search of the best possible photographs. These were the days when photography was not yet capable of capturing the vibrant world around them.

This is probably not a book to read with the intention of finishing it—too many pages—but rather one to skim, perhaps from time to time. A story built from fragments, like the very stones that made possible the Gothic cathedrals and Greek temples captured by Burton Norton's camera. Eduardo Momeñe He is a photographer and author of texts on photographic aesthetics. Promoting photography as a means of expression and creation occupies a significant part of his photographic activity. He regularly teaches workshops, courses, and seminars on the theory and practice of photography.
