Shakespeare in the Mediterranean
The translation we present here by Eusebio Lázaro, a writer, director, and actor with extensive experience in Shakespearean research, was written during the day-to-day preparation for the stage production. During rehearsals, the renowned English director Toby Robertson conducted with the original text in hand and demanded that the translation not only achieve a literal equivalence of meaning, but above all, that the dramatic intensity remain in the words. This is, therefore, a living translation, crafted with the same purpose for which Shakespeare's work was written: the stage.
To discuss the work, we will be joined by writers José Ovejero and Luis Alberto de Cuenca . Translation and introduction by Eusebio Lázaro.
