On the occasion of PHotoESPAÑA, el Círculo invites its members, friends, and associates to an exclusive guided tour of the three exhibitions currently on display in its galleries. The tour will be led by Isabella Lenzi, visual arts curator.el Círculowho will offer insights into how to approach the exhibitions and discover their artistic proposals, as well as the research processes that have shaped each of the projects

Under the motto "Reimagining," the 29th edition of PHotoESPAÑA invites us to consider photography as a constantly evolving language. The festival focuses on experimentation and exploring the limits of the image, reaffirming its capacity to question reality, activate new forms of representation, and open up new ways of seeing the world.

The visit will begin in the Picasso Room with To reimagine, The exhibition, which takes its title from this year's festival theme, brings together thirteen Spanish and Dutch artists. Through photographs, installations, photo-sculptures, and experimental processes, the works explore issues such as identity, territory, memory, and the limits of contemporary representation.

The tour will continue in the Goya Room with Refusal. Second FractureBy Polish artist Rafał Milach, this exhibition reflects on the construction and dismantling of official narratives in Eastern Europe. Through photographs, videos, murals, banners, and materials from the Archive of Public Protests, the show explores how propaganda, citizen resistance, and social mobilizations challenge power structures. From the protests in Belarus to the solidarity networks that emerged in Poland, it highlights the fragility of authoritarian discourses and the transformative power of collective action.

The visit will end in the Minerva Room with Montium RuinThe project, by French artist Raphaëlle Peria, uses photographs altered through scraping, erasing, and drawing to explore the geological and historical memory of Las Médulas (León), a landscape shaped by Roman gold mining and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The project also incorporates the impact of the forest fires that have affected the area in recent years and prompts reflection on the fragility of the landscape, memory, and the territory's capacity for regeneration.
