Arquitectura y ciudad. La tradición moderna entre la continuidad y la ruptura

This volume, composed of four of the lectures given at the course of the same name, coordinated by Antón Capitel, which was held in el Círculo de Bellas Artes Between October 24 and December 19, 2005, this volume offers an analysis of the state of contemporary architecture, both in terms of ideas and practical applications. Its aim is to critically engage with the dialectic of continuity and rupture that characterizes the current relationship with diverse architectural traditions, evaluating the modern revolution led by the avant-garde movements and the great masters, as well as the subsequent revisions that followed in their wake. It also examines the break with this legacy, analyzing the extent to which our historical moment corresponds to that of those avant-garde movements. The volume includes texts by Juan Miguel Hernández León, Rafael Moneo , Francesco Dal Co y Juan José Lahuerta.
