Night Metal It brings together and presents the recent work of the painter and sculptor Miguel Galanda, partially premiered within the set design created for the End of Season Concert del Círculo de Bellas Artes and which is now presented in its entirety at the headquarters of the Gabarrón Foundation in New York in a co-production with the CBA.

Born in Caspe, Zaragoza, in 1951, but a resident of Madrid for many years, where he has developed almost his entire career.
Miguel Galanda holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona. After studying Fine Arts for two years at the Sant Jordi School, he dedicated himself to painting and sculpture, responding to the dictates of an increasingly compelling and personal visual and material invention. His dark imagery is populated by strange, twisted, and truncated figures, often wrapped in wire or string and bathed in wax or pigments.

Night Metal This exhibition represents a further exploration of Galanda's ongoing work on the human figure and the challenges of its representation. The collection comprises large-format pieces created on a steel mesh support and worked with pigments, wax, and oil. The resulting works are a hybrid of painting and sculpture, and their presentation on transparent methacrylate powerfully reinforces their sculptural aspect, as the figures appear freestanding, floating in the void of the walls. These figures seem to emerge from some remote and timeless place, from some misty, white, and empty expanse through which they wander suspended. They are figures of the margins, of a time suspended in mid-air, on the border between matter and emptiness, where Galanda's hand repeatedly performs the miracle of identification.
