A reading It gathers, as its title itself indicates, the poetic reading that Andrés Sánchez Robayna (Las Palmas, 1952) delivered a lecture at the CBA in early 2007 as part of the "The Voice of the Poet" series. In it, the Canarian poet offers a diachronic reading of his literary career and reveals, driven by a profound reflective impulse, the reasons
principal aspects of his work. A reading, then, in which we not only hear the poem but also the movements of a consciousness
Literary work of exceptional rigor and coherence. The volume is completed with a previously unpublished interview conducted by Julio Ortega and María Ramírez Ribes in which Sánchez Robayna expands upon and develops the ideas presented in his reading.

The test of the voice is, in effect, the first that the poem knows, the first it must face from its very birth. The poem is born in the mouth and immediately demands its sonic embodiment; it is in the voice that it achieves its fullest reality. [?] Song and word, linked by their root, are also unified by their end or their apex in the case of poetry through what we could call, overcoming all contradiction, the music of meaning.
