Amnesia, Chema Cobo

Amnesia (Abada) brings together a wide selection of aphorisms written by the painter Chema Cobo (1952-2023) throughout his career. These texts condense the ideas, obsessions, and paradoxes that shaped the artist's thinking, offering a critical, ironic, and profoundly erudite perspective on art, language, history, and politics. The work also reveals his interest in masks and the multiplicity of identities, key elements in his creative universe and in his reflections on the figure of the artist.

Those participating in this presentation included his widow and co-editor of the book, Rosa Lefevere; the curators, professors and cultural critics Fernando Castro and Alberto Ruiz de Samaniego; and the director of the Andalusian Institute of Plastic and Visual Arts and co-editor of the book, Lorena Codes.
