As a result of the exhibition ¡Aquí hay petróleo!, The publication of the same name by Jaime Vindel and Gemma Barricarte was presented, a work that proposes a critical look at the relationship between energy, culture and history in contemporary Spain.

The book brings together texts and images that explore how fossil fuels—and oil in particular—have shaped not only the economy and infrastructure, but also cultural imaginaries, ways of life, and political narratives from the 20th century to the present day. With an approach that intertwines cultural history, political ecology, and visual analysis, the publication traces some of the key moments of energy modernity in Spain, from the autarkic projects of the Franco regime to the expansion of the automobile, aviation, and large-scale infrastructure.

The presentation was conceived as a public gathering with its authors, accompanied by a performance piece that incorporated audiovisual archives and electronic music, with the collaboration of Marcelo Expósito. It was a space to explore the questions that permeate the publication and to open a dialogue around the relationships between culture, energy, and the possible horizons of an ecological future.
