Breakups in times of pandemic: reflections on the catastrophe from the new normal Congress opened Escapes, Exoduses and Breakups with the question probably more in urgent need that Europe today has to face: what is the true political, social and cultural impact of the COVID-19 crisis? Gonzalo velasco (professor of Humanities at UC3M and contributor to Hoy por Hoy on Cadena SER) and Nantu Arroyo (Professor of Philosophy at the UAM) not only carried out a philosophical analysis of the pandemic's impact on society, but also presented a critical attitude towards the proliferated war nomenclatures as to the hurried and oversized positions of philosophy contemporary

Like owls of Minerva at dusk, both speakers took flight to deliver this reading which, in the face of what appears to be a second wave, has raised the following questions: What can philosophy truly offer the population? How has the pandemic affected the ways of doing philosophy? How should philosophy respond to this situation?
