Palestinian girls defy the rules of the game
Even in the midst of darkness, in one of the harshest places on the planet, glimmers of hope can emerge. In the Palestinian refugee camp of Shatila, Lebanon, light broke through with Majdi. This facade painter formed a girls' basketball team to steer the girls away from a tragic fate that often begins with child marriage and sometimes ends in a spiral of abuse, drugs, and honor killings.
Journalist Txell Feixas witnessed the team's first steps and a decade later returned to the field to meet Majdi and her players again.
