Following the premiere of The Estunmen, Produced by the Teatro Real, we organized this panel discussion to reflect on contemporary forms of masculinity and the imaginaries that have historically sustained them. The play focuses on a group of film specialists tasked with performing the stunts that embody the supposed heroic gestures of the protagonists. Through this story marked by violence, pain, and the desire for revenge, The Estunmen It questions the traditional idea of ​​man as an invulnerable, brave subject capable of dominating everything.

This conversation aimed to explore the vulnerabilities, silences, and contradictions hidden beneath these models of masculinity, as well as their political and social implications. We will ask ourselves what it means today to speak of a “crisis of masculinity,” how it manifests itself, and what other forms of identity and relationships can be imagined beyond these mandates.

The meeting was attended by the opera directors, Marcel Borràs and Nao Albet; and the political scientist Alfredo Ramos, author of Piercing masculinitiesand the philosopher Clara Serra. The conversation was moderated by Teresa del Olmo, a sociologist from the Humanities department.el Círculo de Bellas Artes.
