Outer sea

catalog of the exposure namesake of the poet and photographer Manuel Vilariño (A Coruña, 1952), winner of the 2007 National Photography Prize, who brought together a series of works created specifically for the exhibition. Focused on an obsessive exploration of the natural world (birds, reptiles) and the stark, austere landscape of the north (from the misty beaches and mountains of the Atlantic to the ice floes and volcanic lakes of Iceland), the images of Outer sea They are a testament to that mysterious boundary where things seem to vanish and at the same time come to life anew, as if being on the very edge of their obscuration gave them breath, a more intense light.
