The lecture series “Ashes the Light”: Annihilãtio – nothing in the poetry of Manuel Álvarez Ortega, is part of the activities programmed by the Manuel Álvarez Ortega Foundation within the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of the Cordoban poet.

This cycle, coordinated by Antoni Gonzalo Carbó (University of Barcelona), presented three lectures aimed at exposing the relevance that the idea of ​​"nothingness" and the experience of annihilation have in the poetic work of Manuel Álvarez Ortega in dialogue with modern and contemporary writing.

José Manuel Cuesta Abad inaugurated the cycle with "Yo, tierra y ceniza" (I, Earth and Ashes), the unique song of Álvarez Ortega.
