His work has been translated into Portuguese and Italian, and some of his poems have also been translated into English, Swedish, and Warao. He writes both prose and poetry, with his prose studies on Gerardo Diego being particularly noteworthy, including:  Gerardo Diego and his religious thought,  de “Monte Carmelo” Publishing House.

In verse he has a good number of published books that have won awards such as the 'Villa de Aranda', the 'Villa de Ermua', the 'Martín Descalzo' National Prize for mystical poetry, the 'Virgen del Carmen' Prize for poetry of the sea, the 'Fernando Rielo' Prize for mystical poetry or the 'Juan de Baños' in this case for his entire literary work.

Now published is 'The Successive Steps. (Second Poetic Anthology)', edited by José Romera, Gonzalo Melgar, Juan Miguel Domínguez, and José Félix Olalla, who also wrote the prologue, by Ediciones Agoeiro. This second poetic anthology focuses on the following books: 'The Hollowness of Your Distance', 'The Cold Nakedness of the Calendar', 'Your Hand All Day', 'Memory Hangs on Balconies', and 'Looking at the Moon'.

Teodoro Rubio is one of the leading figures in Madrid poetry in recent years, directing the 'Gerardo Diego' literary gathering at the Café de Oriente and organizing meetings and conferences in other provinces of the national territory, such as the "Mar adentro" meetings in the Asturian town of Candás.

“In the poetry of Teodoro Rubio we can find a profound religious experience, not necessarily identified with mystical content. It is an experience that is within reach of all people, provided they do not close their hands to receive it, provided they are prudent and keep a little oil to feed their lamps,” wrote José Félix Olalla.
