As if witnessing the unfolding of a dystopia, where our worst nightmares have become reality the moment we wake up, the world, in just one year since our last continuous reading of Don Quixote, seems to have transformed the jokes of Barataria Island into the international political situation we now have to live with, as if it were all one big, macabre masquerade. We want to reflect poetically on the rise of the far right, the restrictions on rights, and the demonization of equality and diversity policies. And on how humor, in any case, could, if not save us, at least offer us some solace.
