On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition of Cristina García Rodero Hidden SpainThe exhibition, which can be visited at the CBA until August 18, features a special screening of the documentary film that Carlota Nelson recently dedicated to the author, followed by a dialogue with both of them.

The work of Cristina García Rodero, winner of the National Photography Prize and the Medal of Merit in Fine Arts, captures much more than rituals, festivals, and ways of life. She has been recognized so many times for her ability to see the human soul behind glances and gestures. For over half a century, she has borne witness to an extraordinary Spain, but her extensive, unhurried, and intimate photo essays have also explored other cultures and realities. Carlota Nelson accompanies her to one of these preferred destinations: India. This shared journey serves to illustrate García Rodero's unique working method, which eschews clichés and the exotic to delve deeper into the obvious. To achieve this, she shares the emotions and feelings of her subjects, face to face, getting wet if necessary, enduring the cold if that's what's required.
