Judith Butler, philosopher and professor of rhetoric and comparative literature at the University of Berkeley, has made undeniable and recognized contributions to feminism, queer theory, and political philosophy. Through critical dialogue with feminist authors like Simone de Beauvoir, linked to the Enlightenment model, Butler defends and develops in her work the idea that it is not possible to distinguish between sex and gender, since there are only culturally constructed bodies, without access to the natural.
