Picasso's Faces: visit-workshop for Primary Education (from 6 years old)

Pablo Picasso displayed a fundamental interest in the human figure throughout his work. In fact, portraiture always held a privileged place in his painting. The freedom with which the artist from Málaga captured the natural appearance of his models went hand in hand with a commitment to the tradition of Western portraiture.

In this workshop, we will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition, focusing on works that demonstrate Picasso's connection to portraiture, to see that there are countless ways to create a portrait. After observing the artist's techniques, we will paint portraits and masks using recycled materials.

Consequences: visit-workshop for Primary Education (from 10 years old) and Secondary Education

Consequences It was a game originating from Victorian England, which was later adapted by the Surrealists, under the name of exquisite corpse.

In this activity, we will focus on the influence of other artists on Picasso's work, on painting from the 16th to the 20th centuries, and on the distinct stages in his artistic development. Participants will create exquisite corpses based on Picasso's works, with the freedom to create their pieces using different materials and techniques (collage, printing, painting). The aim is to cultivate spontaneity and intuition through collaborative creations, without placing emphasis on coherence or the final result.
