Gabriel Ruiz-Larrea
Gabriel Ruiz-Larrea He is an architect and artist, trained at the ETSAM (Madrid), the Technical University of Berlin, and in Columbia University's GSAPP Conceptual Practices program with a Caixa Foundation grant. In his work, through diverse media such as sculpture, video, photography, and installations, he investigates contemporary relationships between aesthetics, politics, territory, and landscape, raising questions about ecology, critical archaeology, and the dissolution of the nature/culture dichotomy. He has taught and lectured at the ETSAM, Columbia University, and Barnard College in New York. He has received several international awards, including the FAD Award for Thought and Criticism for his editorial work, Desierto, the Buell Center Fellowship, and the prestigious Graham Foundation Grant for the Fine Arts.
