Moisés P. Sánchez, Beyond Beethoven
In memoriam Javier Rodríguez-Miñón Falero
El Círculo de Bellas Artes This event is part of the organization's commitment to social action, offering its spaces to support solidarity initiatives that promote collective well-being and accompany processes of social transformation. On this occasion, it invites you to enjoy an extraordinary musical performance that combines virtuosity, creativity, and a contemporary perspective on tradition.
Beyond Beethoven offers extended versions and improvisations on two of the most popular sonatas by one of the great names in universal music: Pathétique and Moonlight Sonata. From a deeply personal perspective, Moisés P. Sánchez expands their sonic possibilities to construct a journey full of intensity, risk, and beauty.
Pianist, composer, and producer, Sánchez is one of the most innovative figures in contemporary European music. His work transcends genres and traditions, integrating diverse influences into a vibrant and original musical language. His career includes a Latin Grammy nomination for Unbalanced: Concerto for Ensemble and two MIN Awards, the most recent for Bach (Re)Inventions . In 2024, he released Dedication II (Double Moon), following tours in Asia and the Americas and several premieres at the National Music Auditorium.
His compositional approach combines a contemporary symphonic vision with a creative freedom that stands out both in his reinterpretations of Bach, Beethoven, Stravinski, Bartók or Falla and in original works of strong artistic charge, such as the ballet Querencia or the suite Guernica.
He has performed at internationally renowned festivals and stages and has collaborated with figures such as John Adams, Benny Golson, Pablo Martín Caminero or Marco Mezquida, in addition to directing productions alongside prominent Spanish music artists.
