Transforming the cancer experience together

El Círculo This meeting is part of its commitment to social action, offering its spaces as a place to support solidarity initiatives that promote collective well-being and social transformation.

Oncomunidad will celebrate its first anniversary with an open and free meeting that will bring together cancer patients, family members and health professionals around a common value: human connection, compassion and the celebration of life.

Officially launched in October 2014, Oncomunidad is a social impact initiative with a clear purpose: to support individuals undergoing cancer treatment and their families through self-awareness, holistic care, and collective strength—the kind that arises from feeling part of a respectful and conscious community. The project stems from the personal experience of its founder, Carmen Eleta, who, after twenty years of living with various cancer diagnoses, decided to transform her journey into a collective project of support, inspiration, and well-being. Oncomunidad was born from the conviction that, even in the midst of adversity, it is possible to live a full life, connected to others, and with purpose.

The event on October 4th will be a shared space where community members will share their experiences and lessons learned. There will also be experiential activities led by some of Oncomunidad's facilitators, such as Qigong, dance therapy, music therapy, and coaching. In addition, there will be interviews with healthcare professionals offering a holistic and humanistic approach, including neuropsychologist María Esther Gómez Rubio, oncologist Ignacio Lacambra, internist and palliative care specialist Dr. Silvia Rubio, and physiotherapist Mélanie Fernández.

The event will also feature a space for entertainment where music, magic, and humor will take center stage, thanks to singer Richie Lione, accompanied by guitarist Kati Golenko, and magician and comedian Luis Boyano. The entire day will be hosted by journalist and broadcaster Miriam Bravo, who will serve as master of ceremonies, and will include special guests such as Juanma Romero. The event will conclude with a musical toast by guitarist Luis Sierra.

This first anniversary will not only be a celebration, but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of community and compassion in the cancer experience, and to continue building alliances with institutions, brands and professionals committed to well-being and social transformation.
