The project " Las idas y las vueltas" (The Journeys and the Returns) is one of the most successful and fruitful endeavors conceived not only by the Accademia del Piacere, but arguably by any Spanish early music ensemble in the last decade. Presented by the Seville-based group led by viola da gamba player Fahmi Alqhai at the 2012 Seville Flamenco Biennial, where it won an award, the show has since garnered international acclaim. " Las idas y las vueltas" explores the fusion of musical traditions that occurred in colonial America, serving as a common starting point for Baroque dance and flamenco. For this reason, the Accademia's regular Baroque ensemble is joined by a flamenco percussionist and guitarist, and Arcángel, from Huelva, one of the most elegant and refined flamenco singers of our time.
