Jorge Pardo and Pepe Habichuela join forces in this musical spectacle enriched by the added value of dance. For years, they have been weaving timeless connections within flamenco, expanding the geographical and cultural boundaries of this art form. Flamenco Universal is also a tribute to their friends, colleagues, and older brothers Enrique Morente and Paco de Lucía, key figures in flamenco's rise to the universal acclaim it enjoys today.

Jorge Pardo (Madrid, 1956) introduced the first flute on a flamenco album with Camarón's legendary La leyenda del tiempo (1979), and has been a member of Paco de Lucía's sextet since 1981. Although his initial training was in jazz, his forays into flamenco are numerous, as are his collaborations with artists of this genre. In 2013, the French Jazz Academy recognized Jorge Pardo as the best European jazz musician for his album Huellas.

Pepe Habichuela (Granada, 1944) is one of the key figures in the renewal that flamenco underwent in the 1970s, its opening up to new paths. Habichuela has participated in legendary recordings such as Homenaje a D. Antonio Chacón and Despegando , with Enrique Morente. A contemporary of Camarón, Paco de Lucía, Morente, and Sanlúcar, he has collaborated with artists of Indian music ( Indica Brasilica , with Nithin Sawhney) and jazz ( Hands , with Dave Holland), among many others.
