24x365 graphic design for public communication
Second exhibition in the series on design, which will address various aspects of recent graphic design.
No one should understand design as a purely aesthetic exercise that neglects its capacity to communicate messages to society. Graphic design, among its many values, serves the community it serves by providing information, facilitating citizens' interactions with their various government bodies, and enabling them to use the different services available to them. It is also a communication tool for people unaccustomed to reading visual messages not based on the written or spoken word.
This exhibition aims to showcase the impact of graphic design on society, presenting projects that have brought about a substantial change in citizens' quality of life. It will feature current works with a strong focus on social or public communication, developed in all of Spain's autonomous communities. These range from the graphic design of cultural or social service centers and workplace safety campaigns to signage for hospitals and city centers, and even public transport network maps.
Graphic design in social communication is working permanently 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, silently but effectively, thanks to the work and solutions provided by professional designers in their attempt to facilitate social communication with their proposals.
