100 Haikus

Presentation of the book 100 Haikus (Lapislatzuli) by Valentí Gómez-Oliver, which will feature a cellist and six reciters who, together with the author, will perform some haikus from the book in seven languages.

The following will participate in the event: Valentí Gómez-Oliver (Catalan), Marga Clark (Spanish), Steve Clark (English), Ella Hamdi (French), Teresa Pereira (German), Roberta Buffi (Italian), Luna Andriani (Japanese), Jon Viñaspre (editor) and Alberto Campanero (cello).

Valentí Gómez-Oliver is a poet, writer, and translator. He holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters (University of Barcelona) and a diploma from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Rome) under the tutelage of Roberto Rossellini. Until 2003, he was a professor of Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Rome 3 (Department of Comparative Literature), where he had worked since 1969. He has published articles, screenplays, and numerous books translated into many languages.

It is worth noting: poetry (Selva Endins, 1993; New York Altarpiece, 2017); prose (The Eye of the Pharaoh1993; Rome, walks through eternity2001; Invocations, 2008, with Miquel de Palol); bibliophile (Seven planets, 1997, with Albert Ràfols Casamada); rehearsal (Confessions of Jesuits, 2019, with Josep Mª Benítez); translation (B. Cellini; the Book of the Dead of the Ancient Egyptians; Elémire Zolla); literary criticism (“La Vanguardia”, “Ara”); music (CDs: Or Verd, New York Tableaux, Las Musas cantan Sonetos [in preparation]. Since 2006 Cavaliere OMRI de la Repubblica Italiana.
