On the occasion of the European elections on May 26, 2019 , the Representation of the European Commission in Spain, the Spanish Federal Council of the European Movement and the Representation Office for Spain and Portugal of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation will hold the conference with public debate: European Elections 2019 – Prospects for democracy in Europe.

During the main presentation, the former president of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering It will outline the perspectives on democracy in Europe and the "democratization" of the Union's structures and processes.
The Polish European activist Maia Mazurkiewicz It will examine the future validity and applicability of the Union's guiding principles and democratic values ​​in Poland and Central Europe.
The director of the Elcano Royal Institute, Charles Powell, will assess the possible consequences of the European election result for Spain and Spain's future role during the next legislature of the European Parliament.
The historian will act as moderator Emilio Sáenz-French, director of the Department of International Relations at the Pontifical University Comillas ICAI-ICADE.
