The Spring Recital of the Poetry Group of the Meeting Room del Círculo de Bellas Artes This brings us closer to one of the most important poets on the national scene. She is María Ángeles Pérez López (Valladolid, 1967), who, in addition to being a poet, is a professor of Latin American Literature at the University of Salamanca, where she coordinates the Chile Chair.

Awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize, she has been a visiting professor at various European and American universities. Author of several monographs, editions, and articles on Hispanic poetry, she recently edited the complete poetry of Francisca Aguirre (Calambur) and the extensive volume of the Complete Poetry of Ernesto Cardenal (Trotta). Her books have been published in countries such as Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Italy, and Portugal. Her latest book, *Libro mediterráneo de los muertos* (Mediterranean Book of the Dead), won the most recent Margarita Hierro Prize.

In addition, as a poet, she has received several literary awards. She is a corresponding member of the North American Academy of the Spanish Language, an adopted daughter of Fontiveros, and a member of the Academy of Minstrels of Fontiveros, the birthplace of Saint John of the Cross. She has been elected an Honorary Academician of the Nicaraguan Academy of the Spanish Language. She is a member of the Genealogies of Women Poets Association in Spain. She has served on the jury of numerous literary prizes, including the Cervantes Prize and the Queen Sofía Prize for Ibero-American Poetry.

The author will talk with Alfredo Piquer, director of the Aula de Encuentros, and will also recite some poems.
