Clara Ramas San Miguel, former regional deputy for More Madrid and professor in the Department of Philosophy and Society of the Complutense University of Madrid , and Valerio Rocco Lozano director del Círculo de Bellas Artes and professor in the Department of Philosophy of the Autonomous University of Madrid, are the protagonists of the tenth installment of Dialogues on ethics, politics, and public virtue.

The conversation focuses on bringing public ethics closer to political experience. Both participants point to the need to build a more down-to-earth space, understanding that, at times, the hyper-moralization of politics works against the construction of certain ethical bonds that make it possible to think about the common good.

Highlighting the difference between morality and ethics, they cautiously suggest that, in politics, as in the arts, morality can hinder revolutionary spirit. Today, community ethics is not presented as a fixed entity; traditional customs, values, and institutions have entered the public debate, allowing moral principles to be discussed and fostering increased creativity.

The absence of rigid frameworks is liberating; however, participants miss new structures that integrate and provide a refuge for individual aspirations. These structures, understood as intermediate spaces that enable collective citizen participation, have been affected by digital implementation and the emergence of fragmented forms of debate. Philosophy, through the thought of Hegel and Max Weber, and culture, both find their place in the dialogue, understood as necessary tools for developing current and updated criteria.

The project "Dialogues on Ethics, Politics, and Public Virtue" aims to conduct a critical, transdisciplinary, and heuristic analysis of the concepts of ethics and political virtue. To this end, ten conversations have been recorded in which researchers from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) engage in dialogue with ten prominent figures in the world of politics.
