The Different Realities of Health and Illness. There seem to be multiple ways of interpreting the origin of health and illness: on the one hand, through different scientific disciplines, but on the other hand, there is also (potentially) the perception and interpretation of each individual, which sometimes seems to have to be subordinated to, or excluded from, objective evidence and statistics. However, the different realities in the various disciplines are not necessarily incompatible with each other, and could be complementary, just as objective realities could be with subjective realities, as long as they "work" (Health).

The CBA will host this conference, which aims to offer some of the possible aspects surrounding these initial ideas, without any intention of covering the entire possible range, but rather with the intention of stimulating a start to debate, and even of being a basis for the future organization of seminars aimed at delving deeper into some of the points that raise the most concern or interest.

The coordinating group, which organized Conferences and Seminars in Evolutionary Medicine from 2009 to 2019, expands its multidisciplinary scope to include Philosophy with this edition, symbolically holding the event at the CBA headquarters. This conference will feature six presentations by two physicians, a genetic biologist, an anthropological biologist, and two philosophers, aiming to offer diverse perspectives on topics of Health and Disease. Ample time will be allotted for discussion, and the intention is to further explore topics of interest afterward.

The sessions will feature the participation of Alvaro Daschner (Allergist), María-José Trujillo Tiebas (Biologist-Geneticist), Laura Nuño de la Rosa (Philosopher), Rafael Tomás Cardoso (Physical Anthropologist), Manuel Faraco Favieres (Psychiatrist) and Valerio Rocco Lozano (Philosopher and Director of the CBA).
