Omega
Reissue: 20th Anniversary
Written in the form of an oral history, more than fifty participants engage in a virtual dialogue about one of the most outstanding albums in the recent history of Spanish music. What does it have? Omega How can it mesmerize such diverse audiences? The approach to Lorca's dark and surreal side and its encounter with Cohen's poetry, along with the alliance with Lagartija Nick's rock, which acts as a catalyst and opens flamenco to unknown textures. Despite its appeal to the public, it's a stark album that initially stirred controversy and ended up being considered the best of the decade, if not more. Its impact and prestige have never stopped growing.
The book features contributions and dialogues from Leonard Cohen, Santiago Auserón, Estrella Morente, Aurora and Antonio Carbonell, Vicente Amigo, Negri, Paquete, Kiko Veneno, Montero Glez, Miguel Poveda, Jota and Eric (Los Planetas), Diego A. Manrique, Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Antonio Luque (Sr. Chinarro), Ian Gibson, Juan de Loxa, Alfredo Grimaldos, José Manuel Gamboa, Mayte Martín, and many more. The book also includes the previously unpublished text “Los scalpurís crecen con las rosas” (Scalpels Grow with Roses), written by Leonard Cohen.
