Construction Toys. School of Modern Architecture
Catalogue of the exhibition of the same name, exploring the evolution of construction toys, which began to be marketed in the 19th century, and their relationship to modern architecture. Le Corbusier, Gropius, and Frank Lloyd Wright recognized the importance of these toys in their development. And as collector Juan Bordes points out , these toys faithfully recorded the main advances in avant-garde architecture, making its achievements, quite literally, child's play.
