Fantasy. An Application of Discourse is an artistic intervention conceived and produced by Núria Güell for “The Assault of Illusion.” This action unfolds within the institutional framework of the Santa Mònica Museum during the exhibition's run, questioning the dynamics of desire that reside within the institution itself. To what extent is an art center also prey to the very illusions it provokes and disseminates? To what degree has its own reality been assaulted by the fantasy inherent in its own discourses? Do institutions serve the State or the citizenry?

Through various actions and legal operations, the artist investigates the desires and limits of the institution and the people who inhabit it in order to provoke a critical distancing from them.
