PHE 17 | Antoine D'Agata. Corpus
Corpus , an installation by Antoine d'Agata composed of texts, images and various audiovisuals, reconsiders the trajectory of a man who tirelessly writes the same excessive life script to which he has decided to adhere as the protagonist of his own images, making an effort to think, feel and act in accordance with his own words.
In that act of life, which is an act of resistance and communion with his themes, he lets desire and fear lead him through the pagan rituals of instinct and the irrational violence of the world.
Through a re-reading of a work with theoretical and political foundations, approached from the angle of biographical testimony and the account of the deeds and gestures of an "embodied" figure of the artist, the exhibition attempts to express the experience of a reality lived in an increasingly intense way.
To coincide with this exhibition, Antoine D'Agata will present his book CODEX, Antoine d'Agata, Mexico 1996-2017 at the CBA . During the presentation, which will take place on June 15 at 19:00 p.m. , the author will be in conversation with Ramón Reverté. D'Agata will also participate in the course " Photography and Transversality: Photography at the Intersection with Other Disciplines , " at the School of Arts.
The three exhibitions it houses el Círculo de Bellas Artes within the twentieth edition of PhotoEspaña (PHE) are part of a selection made by Alberto García-Alix, National Photography Prize in 1999, under the title Exaltation of beingThis is a carte blanche that PhotoEspaña has granted to the photographer from León, who starred in a major exhibition at the festival's first edition.
